Trevor Bauer Has Released A Beautiful Self-Narrated Video Titled "Thank You, Cleveland"

Great video. There’s no other way to put it. Trevor Bauer has been a major part of the past couple very successful years for the Indians, and watching him recap the highlights of his time in Cleveland was a great final message to his fans. Three straight AL Central Championships, a 22 game win streak, and a World Series appearance.  Great memories.

This guy is smart. I think he feels he’s a whole lot smarter than he really is, but there’s no question he’s smart. He could’ve gone out guns ablazing after being traded, especially after his memorable exit following his last outing, but he clearly thought about how he wanted to be remembered here. His first weird, cool, funny, and mostly weird move was to take in a game in Cleveland as a fan last night…

And now his second (and has to be final, right?) move is to release a 4-minute long self narrated message thanking the fans for sharing the same heartbeat as him during his special time in the city. Classy.

But as much as the video tugs at the heartstrings of Tribe fans like me, I still stand by my take that Trevor Bauer is a really good pitcher but more of an absolute weirdo. The fact that he’ll need about $20 million next year, and then he’ll be a free agent the following year meant that it was clearly time to start shopping him. And when the perfect deal came along, we had to take it.

But this video and the way he handled his final final exit will definitely mean he’ll get a warm welcome every time he’s back in Cleveland. Good luck in Cincy, Trevor. I wish you the best. Except in the Ohio Cup!!!! We’ll see you next summer.
