The Rich Hunting People For Sport Is The Plot To The New Movie 'The Hunt'

Uhhhhhh, sure?

Twelve strangers wake up in a clearing. They don’t know where they are, or how they got there. They don’t know they’ve been chosen—for a very specific purpose—The Hunt. (via Wikipedia)

A lot of people are reacting to the trailer and noting that this is very similar to the 1932 movie (and book adaptation) ‘The Most Dangerous Game’.

When legendary hunter Bob Rainsford (Joel McCrea) is shipwrecked on the perilous reefs surrounding a mysterious island, he finds himself the guest of the reclusive and eccentric Count Zaroff (Leslie Banks). While he is very gracious at first, Zaroff eventually forces Rainsford and two other shipwreck survivors, brother and sister Eve (Fay Wray) and Martin Towbridge (Robert Armstrong), to participate in a sadistic game of cat and mouse in which they are the prey and he is the hunter. The movie also has some ‘The Purge’ and ‘The Hunger Games’ elements in there, as well.

Glenn Howerton and Ike Barinholtz is a duo I didn’t know I needed in an action-thriller-horror movie.

The tying-in of politics and class conflict can be a pretty big turn-off for me, as evidenced with how the ‘Purge’ movies have continued to flop (especially the most recent one). With that said, I will give ‘The Hunt’ a chance, mostly because, even with some duds, Blumhouse has a tendency to surprise people with these types of movies.

What do you think of the trailer for ‘The Hunt’?
