Bud Selig To Invoke Special MLB Commissioner Super Power If Arod Tries To Appeal His Suspension, Will Try To Ban Him For Life

NYDN – If Alex Rodriguez is intent on appealing his looming suspension in an effort to stay on the field and protect his contract, commissioner Bud Selig is prepared to throw the book at the steroid-stained Yankee by invoking one of his office’s most extreme privileges — the right to take action against a player to preserve the integrity of the game, the Daily News has learned. By invoking that rarely used power — embodied in Article XI, Section A1b of the game’s collective bargaining agreement — Selig would attempt to effectively keep Rodriguez from ever returning to the field by bypassing the grievance procedure outlined in the joint drug program MLB operates in conjunction with the Players’ Association, sources told The News.  Selig is believed to be so determined to keep Rodriguez from ever stepping on a Major League Baseball field again that he is risking a reopening of the collective bargaining agreement or even a federal court case with his decision to bypass the usual grievance procedures and exercise his power to take action on an issue “involving the preservation of the integrity of, or the maintenance of public confidence in, the game of baseball.” By basing his treatment of Rodriguez on that clause, Selig is effectively bypassing the arbitration-based procedures in place for doping cases, which are laid out in the Joint Drug Agreement, baseball’s collectively bargained anti-doping policy, and putting the appeals process in his own hands. The Selig suspension of Rodriguez would in effect supercede baseball’s suspension of him for multiple violations of the joint drug agreement. However, sources told The News that the drug suspension would be then imposed during the time Rodriguez was serving the initial ban for impeding the investigation.

Well look who finally grew a fucking sack! It only took 20 years, Bud. Invoking the “best interest of the game” clause like some sort of super top secret weapon. I feel like him and all his minions are letting their powers combine to form Captain Planet or some shit. He’s basically willing to throw the CBA and the entire drug agreement out the window to skewer this cheating asshole. As soft as Bud Selig has been – and I think you’d have to say he’s been the softest commissioner in all of sports the past couple decades – he’s finally stepped up to the plate. Which means the pile of evidence they have on him is enormous. Bill Madden was on Boomer and Carton today saying the case they have against him is downright staggering, but for Bud Selig to dust off his testicles which havent seen the light of day in 20 years and invoke a clause that violates every agreement in baseball, it must be the most airtight case in the history of cases. This is like the equivalent of dropping the atomic bomb. You better be right.

The best part of this is gonna be watching Alex Rodriguez make the stupidest decision of his life. And thats saying a lot. This guy is absolutely fucked one way or the other. Either he takes the 150 game suspension, and effectively ends up retiring because he’ll be 40 with 2 bad hips and a 2 year absence from the game. Or he gets banned for life. Either scenario, you’re never playing again. Only difference is with the first option, there’s a chance you can still collect SIXTY MILLION DOLLARS. But I guarantee he appeals and fights it. Because he’s a bonafide retard. He’s one of the dumbest athletes ever. He seemingly surrounds himself with the worst people ever, since nobody has ever advised him to act right. He has no concept of how to act or what to say. Its honestly like watching a chick in pro sports. You want a glimpse into the world of what women in pro sports would be like? Just look at Arod. Just a dramatic, emotional saga of an idiot who can’t get out of his own way. Can’t wait to watch him appeal and lose and flush 60 mil down the toilet.

PS – The goddam Yankees must be fucking throwing a party right now. Yankees fans – consider all the injuries this year the Baseball God’s sacrifice for granting you this once in a lifetime situation to get you off the hook for one of the worst contracts of all time.
