Shane Lowry's Grandmother Is Crushing The British Open Celebration - Drinking Brandy For First Time Since 2009 And Singing On Stage

Shout out Shane Lowry’s 82 year old grandmother Emily Scanlon. She’s absolutely crushing the British Open celebration tour. First, she delivered an all-time interview. She’s out here admitting she’s drinking brandy for the first time since 2009 and then making fun of Lowry for eating what is essentially turf as a kid.

She knows how to party. I can’t get enough of listening to her talk with that accent. If that wasn’t enough, Lowry returned to his hometown yesterday and needless to say it was a hell of a time.

Oh, she’s up to date with pop culture too. 

And then the 32-year-old climbed up himself and showed his adoring working-class community what he had returned with from Royal Portrush. Lowry had said it all felt “surreal” before but this ventured way further into the theatre of the absurd. Emily was called out on stage to sing and said, “my god, I wouldn’t want to be Rihanna”. 

I’m pretty sure my grandmother has no idea who Rihanna is. But, I now need to party with Shane Lowry’s grandmother. I mean don’t get me wrong, Shane looks like a good dude to party with too.

But shout out grandma Emily. That’s the real star of the family. Someone get her a brandy.
