There's No Reason This Fight Shouldn't Happen

Yesterday, the LA-based actor Logan Paul (We Found A Dead Body In The Japanese Suicide Forest) and I shocked the world live on air when we graciously put aside our longstanding differences and finally squashed the one-sided internet beef that’s been hindering our relationship for years. In the process, I found out that we actually have a lot of similarities, including one particular ideology that we both passionately share: That he should fight Domenic Abounader in a boxing match at the next Rough N Rowdy. On radio, I referred to it as a “win-win-win-win” for Logan, Domenic, Barstool Sports, and the fans,” but that didn’t even begin to do the potential fight justice. It would be a MASSIVE win for all parties involved.

“I bet I could beat his ass now, especially in a boxing match.” —  Logan Paul

“The results would be the same. Black eye and an L.” — Domenic Abounader

I mean, come on. Aside from Marty, is this the biggest no brainer in Rough N Rowdy history? I’ve been crunching numbers for the past 24 hours and haven’t been able to come up with a single calculation that equals “this fight shouldn’t happen.”

Logan Paul has 19 MILLION fans who’d be invested in the fight/root for him (provided their bedtime is after 8:00). Logan Paul has even MORE people who fucking hate him and would be invested in the fight/root against him. Think about that for a few seconds. Think about the sheer amount of clicks, views, and collective anxiety for our tech team this fight would create. Logan Paul also specifically called out Abounader on multiple occasions and said he would beat him “hands down” in boxing. I know he gets a lot of criticism, but I don’t think he’s the type of guy to “pussy out” or back down from a challenge, especially when there’s a lot more than just his reputation is on the line…

Domenic Abounader AKA “The Dom-A-Nader” (as if his government name wasn’t intimidating enough on its own) is the D1 All American wrestler/blood-thirsty warrior who humiliated Logan in high school wrestling and has continued to rub it in his face since.

Now, he’s guaranteeing that he would beat him just as badly in a sanctioned boxing match. Dom, himself, would also help generate an entirely new, and large, audience for RNR by inevitably having the entire amateur wrestling fanbase — one of the most loyal communities in the world — invested in the fight/rooting for him. And although it’s crystal clear that Dom is a much better wrestler and tougher athlete, no one really knows how good he is at boxing, whereas Logan has proven that he’s no slouch when it comes to fisticuffs.

He’s been actively training boxing, fighting competitively, and confidently promoting his talents and challenging big names to fights for well over a year now.

The air of mystery regarding this matchup only makes it even more exciting and appealing to fans. No reason it shouldn’t happen. The promotion from both sides would lead to the attention of hundreds of thousands of new people who otherwise wouldn’t even care about boxing. Logan would not only take a home a huge amount of money, but more importantly, he has the opportunity to finally put his money where his mouth is and get revenge on the person who’s been traumatizing him since 2013.
