With Gary Gait On The Sideline, Matt Rambo Pulled Off The Air Gait At The PLL All Star Game. Huge Win For Chonks Everywhere

For those of you who somehow are unaware, Gary Gait is the greatest lacrosse player there ever was. Like every other sport, lacrosse has a few different names that always get tossed around when discussing “who is the GOAT”. But roughly 98% of those discussions always come to an end the moment that somebody brings up Gary Gait, and then everybody else just agrees with that person’s point and move on to the next subject.

One of the reasons why Gary Gait is such a legend in the lacrosse world was for completely reinventing the game and changing it forever with his signature “Air Gait” crease dive.

He was doing things in the late 80s that would still be considered innovative today, and that was back when sticks were basically just long tennis rackets and everybody strictly shot overhand bouncers. It would be like Michael Jordan breaking out a windmill dunk in the 30s. It was so innovative that the corrupt ass NCAA even went ahead and banned the play later because it was just so damn swaggy. The NCAA couldn’t possibly risk allowing their athletes to have any sort of fun out there so they had to put the kibosh on that play as soon as possible.

So now we fast forward to last night at the PLL All Star Game, away from the tyranny of the NCAA. Gary Gait was in the building to watch the current generations of legends put on a show in LA. And with Gary Gait on the sideline, Matt Rambo decided to pay tribute to the GOAT and took flight.

CHONK AIRLINES

Here’s the thing–Matt Rambo is an absolute beast. He’s a National Champion. He won the Tewaaraton Award as college lacrosse’s best player. He currently leads the PLL in points and assists. By definition, he’s a professional athlete which makes him an incredible athlete. But with that being said…well it’s just that Matt Rambo is the Phil Kessel of lacrosse. He is so fucking dominant but you just wouldn’t expect it when you look at him. So you’ll just have to excuse the fact that it probably took everybody by surprise a little when he was the one to break out the Air Gait last night. But you know what? That’s what makes this goal even more legendary. Because it was a massive win for Units everywhere. It proved that just because you could be categorized as a little thicc doesn’t mean that you can’t be sicc. And that, my friends, was sick.

Some other highlights from PLL All Star Weekend:

This assist from Paul Rabil was just pure silliness.

Around the world, on the run, right on the money. That’s a circus assist right there.

The “puck drop” faceoff they used for a quarter seemed to be a success.

I know that faceoff specialists everywhere probably took that decision as an act of war. But as far as something that completely alters the game goes, I thought the puck drop actually went pretty smoothly.

And then I’m still trying to piece my brain back together after it was blown to shreds by this sequence from Justin Guterding during the freestyle competition in the Skills Contest.

Gutty. Such a lax rat.
