Bill Belichick and Phil Esposito on 'Rescue Me' Takes You Into the Weekend

This is Bill Belichick’s only acting credit, as “Funeral Attendee” in this 2006 Season 3 episode of Denis Leary’s “Rescue Me.” It should come as no surprise I think he nailed it. Excellent timing. Landed the joke. Showed some very solid comedy chops. I’ve loved Phil Esposito since I was in preschool. But frankly I thought his best work was as himself in the criminally underappreciated “Mystery, Alaska.” But he manages to keep up with Belichick well enough. It can’t be easy to go toe-to-toe with the master.
