Where's 'Waldo'? Casting, Apparently

(Deadline) “Australian actress Lucy Fry, who played opposite Will Smith in the Netflix film, Bright, has been added to the cast of Waldo, joining Mel Gibson, Charlie Hunnam, and Morena Baccarin.

Tim Kirkby is directing the action-thriller, which follows a disgraced LAPD detective (Hunnam), who’s spent the past three years living off the grid. He’s reluctantly pulled back into his old life by a former lover in order to solve the murder of an eccentric celebrity’s wife.

Dominic Monaghan, Eiza Gonzalez, Clancy Brown, and Jacob Scipio also co-star in the film which is based on the novel, Last Looks, by Howard Michael Gould, who adapted the pic.”

Yes, I was just as worried as you that they were making a movie about everyone’s least favorite creep. News flash, weirdo, if you want to stay hidden maybe you shouldn’t dress like a fucking candy cane. Anyway, this movie seems pretty run-of-the-mill. Charlie Hunnam is in a weird place right now where I cannot determine if he is a good movie actor. His performances were lackluster in his recent big projects (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Triple Frontier), but he rules in smaller movies like ‘The Lost City of Z’ and to a lesser extend with ‘Papillon’.  I’m not sure how the plot of this movie lends to his talents, but at least he has an unproblematic king like Mel Gibson attached to the film. I also want to note the tertiary cast of Clancy Brown (Highlander) and Dominic Monaghan (The Lord of the Rings) is legitimately great. Brown is one of my favorite tough guy actors and favorite voices. Monaghan was great in LOTR/LOST, and I feel like I need more of him in my life. As for the addition of Fry, I don’t remember much about ‘Bright’ other than ORC COP!
