The Knicks Just Stole Marcus Morris From The Spurs

Did a decent free agent actually just choose to sign a deal with the dumb old Knicks instead of the Spurs and noted genius/definitely not an asshole Gregg Popovich?!?

This story has been floating around for a while now since Reggie Bullock’s physical appeared to have some issues with it, causing the Knicks to want to rework the contract.

Since the renegotiated contract would open up more space under the cap, the Knicks could then increase their offer to Marcus Morris, who hadn’t officially signed with the Spurs.

Leading to today, where Morris actually picked playing for the Knicks over the Spurs. I don’t care that the contract was for one year less and $5 million more that the Spurs offered, that Morris falls jussssst a bit short of the KD/Kyrie level of player Knicks fans have been dreaming of, or that Morris is now one of 25 different power forwards on New York’s roster. The Knicks just signed a solid hard-nosed player that the Spurs wanted, likes to fight, and can be moved at the deadline for something decent. Oh yeah and his fucking nickname is Mook. If Knicks fans somehow can’t get behind all that, stuff like this will sell them.

I included that scouting report because every Knicks fan knows that our Top 20 favorite Knicks is pretty much nothing but guys we loved that also drove us crazy as well

However, I buried the lede of this story, which was Reggie Bullock’s agent waxing poetic about the Knicks front office, regardless of if it was because the team did his hurting client a solid or if Jim Dolan threatened to never let him into Radio City to watch the Christmas Spectacular again.

Does this mean the Knicks dumpster fire of a franchise is actually turning around or is this just some more well-placed propaganda by the MSG KGB? The answer is I don’t give a shit because Banners fly forever.

Can’t wait until the Summer of 2021 when all the big free agents are finally ready to sign with the Knicks very cohesive/smart front office to play with a ton of young, talented players coming into their own!

Now lets go to San Antonio and see how Gregg Popovich is taking this news:
