Rip Torn Passed Away Yesterday

2006 U.S. Comedy Arts Festival Aspen - Larry Sanders Tribute

Torn, who most of our age demographic will probably recognize from his roles in ‘Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story’ and ‘Men in Black’, passed away at his home with his family at the age of 88 yesterday. The one thing I will always say about Torn is that he is extremely memorable in every role he has. One of the first more non-disney movies I remember renting with my parents as a kid was ‘Defending Your Life’. His character, Bob Diamond, is one that I always enjoyed immensely both as a child and later on when I saw it again as an adult. A lot of people also love  his role as Artie in ‘The Larry Sanders Show’, which is easily one of the best TV shows of all time. Anyway, let’s turn this into more of a celebration of life and watch some clips.

In case anyone notes it, yes, I did ignore the easy RIP Torn joke. Have some respect you animals!
