Just when Celtics fans may have wanted to get jokes off about Jimmy Butler leaving the Sixers to head to MIA, Woj comes and drops this bomb on our heads. I think we all would have been fine with a plethora of landings spots for Horford, I think we all knew the price he was going to get and just wished him well. Heading to Philly hurts though. I can’t spin that. Sure they committed big money to him as he’ll age, but he’s also really fucking good and went to a direct competitor. That’s just rubbing salt on the wound and it says a lot about how he felt about Boston. To go to Philly rather than work something out to stay in Boston is a kick to the dick there’s no two ways about it. I don’t have nearly the same level of hatred for Al with his departure, but I don’t see how it’s possible that I enjoy watching him in Philly. There’s just no positive way for me to look at that reality.

We heard there was a mystery team out there, we heard the rumblings that the Sixers may have been an option, but I would have bet my life he was heading West. Now the Celtics will have to see him multiple times a year and the fact that the real number is just $97M I’m curious how high the Celtics were really willing to go. Feels like a number they could have gotten to, which means he was out no matter what. The frontcourt of Embiid/Horford is really fucking good, and as a reminder the Celts are still without a starting center.

I’d say I wish Al good luck, but I won’t mean it. I’m thankful for everything he did as a Celtic, he was more than advertised, but this really was the kick to the dick that I did not need this summer. What happened to following Zion and Jrue Holiday on Instagram yesterday, that meant nothing?!?!?
