Wake Up With Reds' Pitcher, Michael Lorenzen, Hitting His First Career Homer Days After Losing His Father

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3jaHzgydE4
What a performance here by Michael Lorenzen, pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds. Just days after losing his father, Lorenzen comes into the game, changed his pitching song for his father, pitches 1 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball. That right there would have made it an awesome story. Now add in the fact that he was hitting for only the fourth time all year, and naturally, he homered on the first pitch he saw. First career bomb, what a way to honor his father. As you could expect, he was in tears in the dugout after rounding the bases, and who could blame him. I could not imagine the emotions that were flowing through Lorenzen, you see him raise his fingers to the sky as he steps on home plate, another awesome gesture to his father. The crowed greeted him with a curtain call as well, but there isn't a chance he remembers it. I'm still not sure how he was able to show up to the park, let alone play and pitch in a major league game, and then launch his first homer. Incredibly sad for him, but what a way to honor your father. I hope you all enjoyed your fathers day.
