Desean Jackson Went Around Philly Feeding The Homeless, Proves That Chip Kelly Is A Dumbass
I’m sure you all remember Chip Kelly’s infamous “culture beats scheme” being the main reason why Desean Jackson was shipped out of town. At that exact moment, Eagles fans should have known that Chip Kelly was in way over his head and had no idea what he was doing. As a head coach in college, you’re able to be a dictator and tell guys exactly how they need to act on and off the field. In the pros, it’s a different situation. These are grown ass men, and Chip Kelly clearly was incapable of leading grown ass men. And since he couldn’t control Desean Jackson, he released him because he “didn’t fit the culture of the team”.
Now it’s 5 years later. Chip Kelly is gone. Desean Jackson is back in Philly. And now he’s going around Kensington and handing out meals to the homeless. I sure would love to know what type of culture Chip Kelly was trying to build if this wasn’t it.
And yes, I’m well aware that guys can change over the course of 5 years. I’m sure that Desean Jackson today is much different than Desean Jackson in 2014. But if Chip Kelly was an actual leader, he could have gotten this side out of Desean Jackson 5 years earlier instead of just releasing him and telling him to go fuck off. Whatever. It’s neither here nor there at this point. Because this story has an ending now that everybody can be happy out. The Eagles and Desean Jackson can be happy that they are back together. The folks in Kensington who are going through whatever struggles they’re going through can be happy that there’s a guy like Desean Jackson back here now who cares enough to help them out. And Eagles fans can all be happy that Chip Kelly is out of here. It took a pretty roundabout way to get here but all in all, pretty happy ending.
P.S. – Nobody sucks harder than the “if he actually wanted to help out of the kindness of his heart, then he wouldn’t feel the need to film it and post the video on social media” guy. Don’t be that asshole. Desean Jackson did a good thing and the fact that this was recorded on video does nothing to take away from that. So shut up.
