Please Send Your Thoughts And Prayers To Cavs Owner Dan Gilbert, Who Suffered A Stroke Over The Weekend

Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert was hospitalized Sunday morning in the Detroit area after experiencing stroke-like symptoms.

Some things are bigger than basketball. So if you have any crude or intrusive comments regarding Dan and his burning passion to win for the city of Cleveland, please keep them to yourself. Now is not the time. I’d question how you could dislike someone that is always so willing to spend his own money to make the team better for the fans, but that’s not the point of this blog and we’ll have to save that discussion for another day. The point of this blog is that one of the most passionate owners in NBA history suffered a stroke over the long Memorial Day Weekend, and I’m asking for your thoughts and prayers for him and his family. Dan is one of my good friends, and he’s an even better person in the Cleveland and Detroit communities. Luckily, it appears that after he immediately underwent a catheter-based procedure due to a stroke he suffered while in the hospital, Dan is on the road to recovery.

Thank God he was already in the hospital when this happened. Because everyone knows that celebrities die in three. And with Bart Starr and Bill Buckner both passing over the weekend, it appears Dan Gilbert may have just slipped out of Death’s hungry grasp. But I’d have to imagine that Death is unhappy now. If I were a celebrity, I’d call in sick today. And I’d keep calling in sick until someone else passes. But I can tell you who it’s not going to be, and that’s Dan Gilbert. Dan Gilbert came back from down 3-1 to the 73 win Warriors. A little stroke isn’t going to knock him out.
