You Can't Be Dumber Than NASA Hiring 11 Companies To Go Back To The Moon And Not Including Barstool Sports

FORBES – NASA has awarded $45.5m to a range of US companies in its efforts to get back onto the Moon.

The agency has tapped 11 companies to help develop a spacecraft that will get to the Moon’s south pole by 2024, as part of the highly ambitious Artemis lunar exploration program.

Each of the 11 companies is looking at different elements, with some taking a few of the conundrums onboard. Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin will study one descent element and one transfer vehicle, while also developing a transfer vehicle prototype. Boeing is working on pretty much everything, with prototypes of two descent ideas, one transfer vehicle and one refuelling element and studies on the lot. SpaceX, in contrast, has only signed up for one descent element study.

The other companies are Aerojet Rocketdyne, Dynetics, Lockheed Martin, Masten Space Systems, Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems, OrbitBeyone, Sierra Nevada Corporation and SSL.

Huge miss for NASA to make plans to go to the moon and not include the only fucking company in the world whose stated mission is literally OWN THE MOON. Now compare that to Boeing:

The Boeing vision is: People working together as a global enterprise for aerospace industry leadership.

Says it right there: global enterprise.

Pretty hard to go to the moon when you’re focused on the Earth, no?

What else:

Lockheed Martin: Our Mission. We solve complex challenges, advance scientific discovery and deliver innovative solutions to help our customers keep people safe.

“Our Customers Use Our Weapons, Not Us”

Northrop Grumman: Our Corporate mission is to provide policy guidelines and strategic direction for the implementation and interpretation of the Federal government initiatives and public law mandates.

“Just Vague Enough For You To Be Terrified”

Dynetics: Our mission is to deliver superior-quality, high-technology products and services ethically, responsively, and cost-effectively—a mission we take seriously.

“Try Hards”

The point is you can’t expect to conquer human lunar exploration with a bunch of lunar virgins. Even if the job sounds a little technical…

Over the next six months, the private space firms chosen will use their millions to study or develop prototypes that will support NASA’s Gateway space station plan.

You still need leadership to carry it through. That’s why I nominate the Lights Camera Barstool guys to lead our first space exploration study program. No clue if they shit about space but all that Avengers stuff had me HYPED.
