A Major League Team Needs To Hire This Baseball Announcer That Caught A Foul Ball On The Fly Mid-Broadcast Without Missing A Beat On The Call

What a fucking play by Marc Schwartz! Being able to snag a foul ball on the fly with your bare hands is impressive enough. But to do it on the air without breaking stride while also protecting your MacBook from getting mollywhopped and not complaining about your hand getting hurt is the kind of play that can get you out of an independent league team’s booth and onto some Major League team’s radar.

Marc won’t be offered a job in The Show tomorrow or anything. But that type of calmness under pressure is the exact type of things media scouts are looking for, as is him immediately giving the ball to a fan while also yukking it up like anybody who has caught a foul ball should (like I have when I caught a Carlos Beltran foul ball in 2007 nbd).

In fact despite the small sample size of just that video, I’d say Marc could be a 5 tool announcer in my book. He has the voice, the hands, the guts, a bit of showmanship, yet is always a man of the people. He can call a game for my team any day of the week and twice on Sunday since I feel like some Minor League teams probably still do single admission doubleheaders on Sunday. Or at least they should.

Hopefully a media director of a Minor League team is reading this blog and will give Marc a shot at putting his career on Road To The Show Mode as well as the cameraman, who did a hell of a job documenting everything. I mean if Minor League teams are reaching out to Barstool bloggers to throw out the first pitch at games, they should be willing to hire someone based on a video they saw here, right?

Please do not make fun of Chaps for this throw, I am merely adding the video and the gif of said video to the blog to state my point about Minor League teams having a relationship with Barstool. Thank you
