Gameday Throwback - David Perron Scores In Game 5 To Beat Thornton And The Sharks A Year After Returning From Brutal Concussion

REDEMPTION! There had to be no better feeling for Perron than scoring a goal to beat the guy who caused him to miss 100 games of his career. Well, maybe getting the brain function back that Thornton might have damaged when he elbowed him in the head, but other than that it had to be the best feeling he could have asked for at the time.

When Joe Thornton came out of the penalty box and hit David Perron on November 4th, 2010, it wasn’t immediately clear the impact it would have on him.

While Perron has recovered after a year’s time and went on to have a successful NHL career, the hit has definitely made things tougher on him. Perron was a MONSTER in Game 3 and I’m ready for him to keep bashing the Sharks brains in on the scoresheet.

You can watch the full highlights of the game right here. The sound of Scottrade going bananas on that Perron goal is about as unreal as it gets. I hope we hear it tonight on a Big Daddy Vladi PP goal!

See you at Enterprise Center tonight LET’S GO BLUES!!!!!!!!!
