Get A Load Of These Psychopaths Freaking Out Over Arthur's Gay Wedding

Source - Arthur is making progressive strides in children’s television.

On Monday, the beloved animated series started off season 22 with a bang when it revealed that one of its longtime characters, Arthur’s teacher Mr. Ratburn, was gay and getting married.

In the premiere episode titled “Mr. Ratburn and the Special Someone,” Arthur and his friends attend their teacher’s wedding, thinking that Mr. Ratburn is marrying female rat Patty (voiced by Jane Lynch) until they realize that she’s actually his sister, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Shocked at the revelation, Arthur’s pal Muffy then asks, “Who is Mr. Ratburn marrying?” — only to turn around and find their teacher walking down the aisle next to another groom.

Shortly after its premiere, the internet erupted over the inclusion of a gay character and storyline in such a prominent children’s program.

Arthur has been on the air since October 10, 1996. The show is the longest-running children’s animated series in the U.S., and is currently the second-longest running animated series in the U.S., behind The Simpsons, according to IMDb.

What a relief, I finally feel represented. What people don’t know is that the only reason it took so long for Mr. Ratburn to get married was because he couldn’t find an imaginary baker to make his wedding cake. They all said rat marriage was between a man rat and a woman rat. Thank God that’s over.

The craziest part of this story isn’t that Mr. Ratburn got married and is clearly the top in the relationship (*see wink at 00:16), it’s that Arthur has been on television for TWENTY-TWO seasons. It premiered in October of 1996 and is still going strong. But don’t tell that to Twitter, they have better things to focus on. Like the fact that the gay agenda is taking over the world and corrupting our youth.

I’m not even going to address the tweets because they’re too crazy, but I will say that at least they balance out the over exuberance exhibited by the people on the other end of the issue.

Call me crazy, but we should probably hold off with the celebratory tweets until an actual real life human gay person gets married on TV. If we celebrate a fake rat marriage they’ll think we’re satisfied. Which we’re not. We won’t stop until every man, woman and child on television is gay. That’s my promise to you, straight people. That’s my promise to you.

PS: Congrats to Ratburn though, wedding looked like a blast.
