JESSICA ANDRADE JUST SLAMMED ROSE NAMAJUNAS ONTO HER SKULL TO BECOME THE NEW UFC STRAWWEIGHT CHAMPION

After a first-round MASTERCLASS from UFC Strawweight Champion Rose Namajunas – the best round she’s ever fought in her career, undoubtedly – Thug Rose got picked up by the Brazilian native and challenger Jessica Andrade, and slammed onto her skull, knocking her unconscious immediately.

Honestly, that was one of the scariest finishes I’ve ever seen in my decade-plus of watching mixed martial arts. Slam KO’s always are, honestly, but that one in particular.

I thought leading up to that moment, Rose Namajunas was putting on one of the best performances I’ve ever seen in the octagon, and I would LOVE to see her get an immediate rematch, and one I feel she deserves. She did say post-fight that this was a “great pressure off her shoulders”, and has spoken openly about her struggles with being champion in the past, though, so I’m not really sure what Rose wants. She’s the friggin best, though, so I hope she gets whatever she does want.
