Lil Wayne Has A New Album Coming Before His Tour With Blink-182 Called "Funeral"

SOURCE – Lil Wayne might deliver new music before his upcoming tour with Blink-182.

After Weezy and the rock group announced pre-sale tickets for the tour earlier this week (May 6), fans bum-rushed Ticketmaster’s website with hopes of reserving their place in line for the show before tickets officially go on sale this Friday. In the Tickets + Music section of the site, it’s revealed that each purchase comes with an option to pre-order physical copies of either Blink-182 or Lil Wayne’s forthcoming albums.

“Your ticket comes with a physical CD per order with your choice of Blink-182’s or Lil Wayne’s forthcoming album. Approximately 24-48 hours after purchase, you will receive an additional email with instruction on how to redeem your album. US/Canadian residents only. One CD per online order. Not valid for Fan to Fan Resale,” reads Ticketmaster’s message to customers.

The message is clear for die-hard fans who’ve been craving a follow-up to Tha Carter V. Last month (April 30), Wayne hit up his Instagram Story and posted an emoji of a coffin. Naturally, fans still believe that the cryptic post indicates that Weezy is ready to release his long-rumored Funeral album. The New Orleans native first revealed plans for the project three years ago. During an interview on The Nine Club podcast, Tunechi claimed he had a project called Funeral in his stash but never confirmed a release date for the project.

“Just make sure they know that Funeral is coming soon,” Wayne said in 2016. “That’s my music. Get your roses ready. I don’t have a release date, but I have a whole bunch of good news coming soon. If you’re a Wayne fan, I know we’ve been going through a lot of tough times right now, but if you are a Wayne fan, we about to hold our heads high soon.”

LETS. FUCKING. GO.

Weezy is back! All praises to the most high King Weezy! I love Lil Wayne so fucking much. I even put “fucking” in there just to emphasize how fucking much I fucking love him. The best rapper alive just continues to bless his fans with more and more music and it can never get old. Will it be the quality of the music he was making back in his heyday from like 2006-2012? No it can’t possibly be that. Making music is a young mans game and Lil Wayne just simply isn’t a young man anymore. He sure as hell isn’t old though, he’s just been in the game for a long time.

It really snuck up on me that Lil Wayne is turning 37 in September. I know it sounds crazy to say that because he’s been rapping for over 20 years but it still feels like he’s so young to me. It feels like those Tha Carter 2, Tha Carter 3 and mixtape days were just a few years ago, not a decade ago. I’ve said it many times but I’ll say it once more in honor of the new album. Lil Wayne had the highest peak of any rapper EVER. From 2006-2012 he was everyone’s favorite rapper. Every song he put out, every feature he did was must listen and he delivered every god damn time.

The diehard Lil Wayne fans have been waiting for this album since 2016 and for all that have patiently waited your day is coming upon us! If I know one thing about Weezy it’s that he wouldn’t dare lead his fans astray and when he says “get your roses ready” and “we about to hold our heads high soon”, I’m not gonna dispute it. I’m just gonna ride the wave like a jetski.

P.S. – I couldn’t think of a better possible concert than Lil Wayne and Blink-182 headlining. I’d take out a loan to see this show if I had too. It’s a guaranteed can’t miss smash. LIL WAYNE and BLINK-182. That is all. I’ll see you guys at the concert.
