I Can't Believe This Giant Japanese Salamander Exists On Earth

Sometimes you are just innocently looking on your phone when you are confronted with harsh realities that you didn’t know you’d ever have to confront. I couldn’t figure out what exactly this video was about at first. Was it a rock? Was something going to pop out suddenly? Oh no, folks, the “rock” IS what the video is about. And its not a boulder, but rather a Giant Salamander from Japan. They grow up to 5 feet long and allegedly can live around 200 years.

This one they found is thought to be 200 years old!!! They measured it at 4.5 feet long and 114 pounds my goodness gracious.

Look at how this thing smokes this trout at the beginning of this video.

Oh my lord. I remember these things from an old episode of River Monsters where they were looking for something that was “making children disappear” or something. Pretty crazy shit to just be sitting there in a creek. I love this planet so much because you never know what you are going to come across on a daily basis.
