Allen Iverson Can Sense It. There Is No Stopping The Philadelphia 76ers
If there’s one person on the planet who knows what it’s like to take down Toronto in Philly on the road to the NBA Finals, it’s AI. And this reaction right here says it all. He knows. You know. I know. We all know that this Philadelphia 76ers team is an absolute fucking force right now.
I have a take that could potentially be considered a “hot take” but I think it’s actually pretty spot on–Allen Iverson might be the greatest retired athlete of all time. And what I mean by that is that Allen Iverson has evolved into one of the greatest ambassadors after his playing career is over. Think about all the old heads who retire and then come back only to talk shit on the current generation of players. AI never does that. He never has anything bad to say about anybody. And he makes it back to so many Sixers games and is always this team’s biggest fan. It’s goddamn beautiful. I feel like so many other guys in his position have been taken over by jealousy. So many other guys would see a Sixers team that has a legitimate shot to be a championship contender and they’d be fueled by jealous rage, and that would cause them to find anything they can to nitpick the team about. But Allen Iverson wants this team to be great. He wants this team to be champions. Even if that means that they do what he wasn’t able to fully finish. What a legend, man. What a legend.
