CM Punk Returned To The Ring This Weekend In Front Of 150 People

At an independent wrestling show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this weekend, a masked intruder ran into the ring during the main event, ripped a steel chair out of one of the competitor’s hands, and proceeded to hit a GTS on that competitor. The GTS, of course, being CM Punk’s old finishing move from his professional wrestling days, and this show being put on in Punk’s neck of the woods, featuring Ace Steele, the man who trained CM Punk for a while – eyebrows were raised.

Rightfully so, too, because I was able to quickly confirm this was indeed Punk at MKE Wrestling, and it ain’t the first time he’s done something like this either.

If my word ain’t good enough for ya, compare these two photos taken on that day in Wisconsin…

I remember first hearing that Punk was appearing at sporadic indie shows back in 2015 during the filming of Colt Cabana’s ‘Wrestling Road Diaries 3′ with fellow comedic wrestlers Grado and Kikutaro. He was wearing a ‘Death’ type robe and cloak, I think he had a staff of some sort, and he had a cup of salt he’d throw around for whatever reason. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp was able to find some screengrabs of this…

Footage of this was later cut from the documentary following CM Punk and Colt Cabana’s fallout, I was told, but I can promise ya that’s him.

So many Punk “fans” came to his aid to deny that the masked wrestler was him, as he’d NEEEVVVVVVEEEEERRRRRRRR do such a bad GTS. To those dopes, I say: guess what – you’re likely just as big a reason Punk left this business as Vince McMahon is. Homeboy did a fun little spot with his buddies in front of 150 people five years after retiring. He’s PROBABLY gonna be a little rusty! There’s no need to analyze and critique every inch of movement in this clip like it’s the main event of WrestleMania he always wanted.

I’m glad Punk’s having fun.
