It's Just That In No World Should Baseball Fans Ever Get To Refer To This As A "Bench Clearing Brawl"

I mean…what the fuck did I just watch? The MLB has this listed on their YouTube page as “Benches Clearing Brawl in Chicago”.

Uhhhh the fuck no it was not. What this looks like to me was a couple of dumbass baseball players getting upset over a bunch of dumbass “unwritten rules” of baseball, and then doing nothing but holding each other back for 5 minutes while occasionally yelling. Not a single punch was connected because not a single punch was thrown. There were about 50 guys involved in that “benches clearing brawl” and I’d say that at least 48 of them were all hold back guys. 48 dudes holding back one player on one side, and 48 dudes holding back another player on the other side.

And what the hell are the bullpen guys doing running all the way in there? Honestly I feel like they just want to feel like they’re a part of the game. They want everybody to remember that they’re on the team, too. They’re sick of having to go sit in their own dugout and hope they get the call to face one or two batters. So any chance that bullpen pitchers have to get out on the field, they take it. Even if it’s just for all of them to hold back one player.

All of this, of course, because a pitcher decides to bean a guy for pimping a dinger. Get over yourself, pal. This is probably the worst unwritten rule in baseball. I mean how soft can you possibly be that you have to go out and hit a guy because he didn’t just gracefully lay down his bat after going yard on your ass? If you don’t want guys to pimp home runs, then don’t give up home runs. Pretty simple. Imagine if there was a fight in hockey after every time a goal was scored and celebrated? Personally, I would love that. But at least those would be actual fights. Not this nonsense where the most vicious thing to happen was maybe a half-assed shove. Makes me sick.
