Apparently Kyrie Was So Pissed After Winning The 2016 Title He FaceTimed Kobe Instead Of Celebrating With The Cavs

Cleveland Cavaliers v Los Angeles Lakers

So this was from Brian Windhorst’s Hoop Collective podcast (h/t 247 Sports for transcribing it)

“He won The Finals (in 2016 with the Cavs) and he was angry. He seriously won The Finals, his father and sister came out to hug him and he was angry. He was mad, in that moment. And then, when he got to the locker room, while his teammates were celebrating, he FaceTimed Kobe (Bryant).

There’s only one thing that can happen for me to positive spinzone this. Kyrie ends up as a Knick this offseason. Because this is one weird dude. Between the way he handles the media, some of his comments and this, well, that’s a unique character. Luckily for him he’s also a hell of a player.

I mean no matter how much you hate your teammates (well, LeBron) how do you not find at least one person to celebrate with? Why are you FaceTiming Kobe? I know. I know. He went through the whole Shaq thing. But, really? Kobe? Again, if Kyrie becomes a Knick I’ll overlook this.

It makes a whole lot more sense that he wanted a trade now. I mean we’ve heard multiple stories to confirm this, but this also just reinforces it all.

I just want to know why Irving was so mad. They won. I mean I’ve always heard winning cures everything. You’d think in the moments right after that title you’d be caught up in the moment.

Now, if you don’t mind me:
