Getting Run Over By A Car While Running Inside On A Treadmill Is The Worst Luck

When you go for a run outside, you’re leaving yourself open to the elements and all the danger that comes with it. Unruly teenagers, angry wild cats, and the chance that you’ll be crossing the street and absolutely pummeled by a car. One second you’re singing along to a song that’s blasting in your headphones, the next second you’re doing cartwheel through the air because an Uber driver just smashed into you so hard while making an illegal right turn out of nowhere. But that’s the chance you take by going for a run outside. When you’re inside though, you basically have nothing to worry about. You’re safe and sound. Nice AC buzzing, you have a TV in front of you with Stephen A Smith on it so you’re watching TV while listening to music, running in place on a treadmill at a leisurely pace when OH MY GOD

FOX 5 - The video shows a man, later identified as Samuel Kiwasz, up on a treadmill warming up for a group training class when several seconds later, an SUV charges through the building, ramming the treadmill into the back wall and pinning Kiwasz between the two. Fortunately, the door to a back office was not locked, it was pushed open, and that may have saved his life.

A god damn car out of god damn nowhere!

That’s gotta be the worst luck ever. I guess at that point, when you’re running inside on a treadmill, and you still get run over by a car, you’re simply supposed to get run over by a car. It’s just Final Destination type stuff. It’s safe to say that nobody has ever been more supposed to get run over by a car than that guy.

PS: I love the description of the person who hit him:

The driver, a blonde woman in socks, exits the SUV to check on Kiwasz but then tries to get back in her vehicle. That’s when an undercover police officer who happened to be exercising, stops her until backup arrives.

Gym employees say the woman, who was not immediately identified, told police her brake pedal didn’t work.

“A blonde woman in socks” who “told police her brake pedal didn’t work”. Ah of course, the classic case of the brake pedal randomly not working. I wonder who she was texting.
