My Jaw Hit The Floor After Seeing This Zack Greinke vs. Chris Davis Hitting Comparison

RDT blogged about the dreadful abyss that Chris Davis has fallen into yesterday, but I had to share this stat I came across this morning. Back in 2013 Davis was a monster and finished 3rd in the MVP voting with 53 homers and 138 RBIs. Now he’s about as useful as a single A minor leaguer. It’s really bad. So bad that someone recently pointed out that over his last 547 plate appearances, Davis is a far worse hitter than starting pitcher Zack Greinke. It’s truly hard to believe but look.

My buddy sent me that tweet this morning and my jaw dropped to the floor. How is that possible?

We’ve got Greinke the other night doing some yard work, meanwhile Davis can’t even make contact with the ball.

Davis was pinch hit for yesterday in the 8th inning of a one run game. Not always the best sign when the guy who is easily making the most money on the team is being pulled in the biggest spot of the ball game. Since signing his massive extension he has struck out in 35% of his plate appearances. That is WILD.

Yesterday he didn’t come close.

I would normally feel bad for the guy, but I have a hard time doing some when the guy makes $17 million a year. I feel bad for Orioles fans who have to endure this shit. Has there ever been a player in sports who fell so far off the map after getting a big contract?
