Lady Freaks The Fuck Out When She Runs Into Ben Stiller On The Subway
Seeee! Celebrities are just like us, they too get harassed by clinically insane people while minding their own business on the subway. I’m not going to take away from this lady’s moment, she’s obviously the biggest Ben Stiller fan on earth, but babe, act like you’ve been there. This is Ben Stiller we’re talking about, not Barack Obama. Meet the Parents was twenty years ago. Yeah it was a quotable box office hit and one of the biggest movies of the 2000s, but take it down a notch.
There’s an unwritten rule when you see a celebrity in New York, which is don’t say anything. Act like they’re a normal person and keep it moving. This isn’t LA. People want to get to work and not be bothered, celebrities included. Obviously there are exceptions. If you run into someone who you absolutely love, someone who you’ve been following forever who you’d kill yourself over not getting a picture with then go for it. But the vast majority of the time you have to leave them alone.

I used to play pickup basketball at a really nice gym on the Upper West Side that I couldn’t afford that had a bunch of celebrity clients. One of those celebrities was Adam Sandler. He would come in towards the end of an open run once things calmed down and play a few games. EVERYONE knew it was Adam Sandler and everyone was star struck, myself included. You think about his body of work, the people he came up with- Farley, Rock (he would ride the stationary bike and watch us play), Spade, Meadows, MacDonald, and it absolutely blows your mind…But no one said anything. Why? Because we understood it would be inappropriate. So we played it cool and focused on the game knowing the gym was his safe haven. It was the one spot he could go and not worry about being harassed. The only time he got called out was when a new kid at the gym realized who he was and said verbatim, “Oh shit! Das Adam Sandler! I love your fucking movies. You guys see who this is? It’s a movie star!” The whole gym erupted into laughter and he ended up taking pictures with all of us. He knew it was only a matter of time until someone blew up his spot.
What I’m trying to say is that Ben Stiller was that lady’s Adam Sandler. She couldn’t help herself and lost her fucking mind. Everyone’s got one person, hers just happens to be someone we haven’t heard from in a while. Enjoy that pic, babe. I hope it came out great.
