UMass Has Punched Their Ticket To The Frozen Four For The First Time In School History

For the first time in school history, UMass has punched their ticket to the Frozen Four after a 4-0 win over Notre Dame in the Northeast Semifinal. A complete 180 from where this program was just a few years ago. In 2016-17 the Minutemen won 5 games under first year coach Greg Carvel, now just two years later they are 30-9-0 and going to the Frozen Four.

UMass will play the winner of AIC and Denver. Shout out to AIC too, a team that was basically the laughing stock of division 1 hockey a few years back and they took down the #1 seed in St. Cloud State. Is there a bigger bunch of joke artists then SCSU? They just dominate the regular season then get taken out by a 16 seed in the first round every year.

It starts and ends with coaching with this UMass team, but my god is defenseman Cale Makar something special. The one timer he unloaded tonight was hockey porn. If you are an Avalanche fan you have to be salivating knowing that this kid is going to be in the Avs lineup next season.

Got to give a shoutout to the FRESHMEN goalie Filip Lindberg who put up a shutout in the clinching game. Not every day you see a freshmen goalie come in and tell the boys to get on his back, but Lindberg did that tonight.

Things are different in Amherst now…..NewMass is here to stay.
