GUNS UP - Texas Tech Makes First Ever Final Four

Chris Beard, man. What an unbelievable this story this dude is. He’s been coaching at the Division I level for FOUR YEARS and he’s made the Final Four. He’s turned Texas Tech into an absolute dominant program in two years. It finally culminated in what we saw the best defense in the country vs the best offense in the country.

What a game too. Absolutely awesome the entire time with pretty much the entire game spent within one possession. It was a weird game too. Jarrett Culver didn’t really have a good game. He finished with 19, but he struggled to get there, especially in the first half. He’s your All-American. He’s a top-10 pick. That’s the guy that you expect to show up and win you a game. Instead it was Matt Mooney, Davide Moretti hitting late shots, the defense.

On top of that you had Texas Tech forcing turnovers but at the same time Gonzaga had 12 points on bobbled balls by Texas Tech. Essentially fumble recoveries. They were held thanks to that Tech defense. They are aggressive. They get after you in, slap at the ball and rotate. Then there was the Tariq Owens block. Was he out of bounds to save it? Yep. But, that block was absurd.

So Guns Up, baby. First time in school history to make the Final Four.
