Well that was an unbelievable game. It felt like all weekend we were waiting for something like this to happen. We finally had that unbelievable game and I have no idea how Duke survived. I mean I do, because Zion is an absolute freak of nature and the best player in the country by far. But, everything was coming up UCF. They were up 3. Duke was wasting time with an awful possession. It turned into a 4 point possession with Tacko Fall fouling out with 11 seconds left. Then the final shot happened. How that rimmed out is beyond me besides karma for the Grayson Allen miss last year? Even then – Duke’s had enough good karma.

We did see what teams will do to Duke going forward. UCF sat in that zone and even went with a hybrid 1 man zone to a bit. They had Tacko Fall ‘guarding’ Tre Jones daring him to shoot from the perimeter while sitting at the rim. Teams are going to do that going forward even more. Now, Jones hit a big three late in the 2nd half followed by Goldwire doing the same, but you live with that.

Either way that game was unbelievable. Dawkins finished with 32. Tacko and Taylor had 15. Zion went for 32 and 11. Barrett had 16 and 8 including the game-winning bucket. The big names all showed up.

So now Duke advances. We were robbed of Clem in Vegas for a 2nd year in a row. The invitation still stands though that he can come to Cincinnati and watch games with me instead next week. Either way.
