Ichiro Suzuki Says Goodbye To Baseball

LEGEND. If you forgot, there was another regular season baseball game today in Japan between the A’s and Mariners. It was announced that it would also be Ichiro Suzuki’s final game in the sport of baseball as a player. With the game tied at 4 in the 8th, Ichiro came up with the go ahead run on second, but was unable to beat out a slow roller to short. He went out to right field for the bottom half of the 8th and was then given his special moment in front on his home town fans. Pretty amazing hair standing up on the back of your neck stuff here. What a way to go out.

Yusei Kikuchi, today’s starting pitcher for the Mariners, absolutely lost it when saying good bye. Ichiro was the guy he looked up to when learning the game of baseball. Now in his major league debut he’s also saying good bye to that idol. That’s fucking crazy!!!

He’s all of us right now. Tip of the cap to one helluva career. 28 professional seasons combined over Japan and the US which is INSANE. It’s outrageous he had a whole career in Japan and then came over and still had over 3,000 hits in the US. Legend of the game in every way, shape, or form.
