Little League Team Accused Of Rigging The Draft & Kicked Out Of League Because They're Too Stacked
APACHE JUNCTION, AZ – The Apache Junction Little League team known as “The Hooks” have been terminated from this baseball season … and parents are furious. The League’s governing board accused the team’s coaches of rigging the player draft system in their favor so they could get some of the best players. The team denies it, and the 8, 9 and 10-year-old players say they’re tired of being harassed for being too good. “I just think they’re jealous and they want to make up stories,” Hooks’ player Gavin Limongello said. “Our whole family doesn’t like being called cheaters,” another Hooks’ player Gibson Limongello said. “We’re being called liars too.” This kids’ baseball team being called a bunch of cheaters isn’t sitting well with moms and dads who are outraged their kids’ baseball season is ruined after a month of practices. The team hasn’t played in real games yet. Apache Junction’s Little League Board held a meeting Friday night to inform upset parents their kids will have to join other teams if they want to play this season. Parents told ABC 15 their children are depressed. They worry breaking the little players away from all of the friends they’ve made takes away all of the fun. “That’s all that should matter. Not the competition side. For crying out loud, my kid is 9,” mother Michelle Johnson said. ABC 15 tried to get the Little League Board’s comment, but they declined. They told parents the reason they’re disbanding their ball team is to maintain the integrity of the sport.
Its Opening Day. A day where every red blooded American is supposed to cherish the sport of baseball. Remember the beauty that is America’s pastime. But how am I supposed to do that when I’m reading this filth? This disgusting slander of The Hooks. This team that HASN’T EVEN PLAYED A GAME YET. I guess we officially play games on paper, folks. Whats the point of even competing anymore? We should have just handed the Lakers the title this year in the NBA. The Yankees should have won about 10 of the last 12 World Series. Best teams on paper. No reason to actually play, right? Just absolutely gross. Little League board scared to death that one team might be too good and might hurt every other teams feelings. Don’t want to ruin the season for any of these kids except the entire team that we just kicked out. Who cares about them. Deplorable. If you’re gonna call a team “too good” at least let them prove it first.
This is really just a case about the 2 types of fathers there are in this world. There’s the dads who sign up to coach a Little League team so the kids can have fun. They wanna teach them about teamwork and sportsmanship and tell them the most important thing is having fun. And then there are the dads that wanna win. The dads that have been scouting the fat 12 year old kid who actually has the body of a 14 year old and can hit BOMBS. The dads that know the new kid who moved from two towns over can throw gas. The shrewd Dad GMs and coaches who don’t make their team sing “2, 4, 6 8 who do we appreciate!” after the game because the only team he gives a shit about is his own. The dad who’s teaching these kids to throw breaking balls because he doesn’t care about their futures and he’s just trying to win Apache Junction titles like there’s no tomorrow.
Its called winning, folks. Not cheating. Whats next? Tall kids being kicked off their basketball team because they’re too good. Strong kids being kicked off the football team. Fast kids being kicked off the track team. Smart kids being kicked out of class for acing tests? Get real. Winners win, losers lose. And there ain’t no way to tell who’s a winner and who’s a loser unless you fucking play.
