Source –  It is no secret that going to the college in the US is expensive. So expensive, in fact, that some students are resorting to “sugar daddy” websites to help them pay for their education.

Dating website Seeking Arrangements has unveiled its list of schools with the most “sugar babies.”

The matchmaking service, which launched in 2006, requires sugar babies to register with their school emails, so the company combed through its user database to determine which colleges had the most users.

Georgia State University in Atlanta nabbed the top spot, with more than 1,300 students registered as sugar babies. More than 300 of those students signed up in 2018.

University of Central Florida came in second place, followed by University of Alabama, Florida State University and University of Florida.

When it came to the Big Apple, Seeking Arrangements found that Columbia University came in 16th place, while New York University took the 17th spot.

I have such mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I’m insanely jealous that this is an option for college kids. If I could’ve made a few extra bucks by going on a date with an older person here or there while I was in college I would’ve been all over it. Then again, that’s all it would’ve been- a date. Obviously, there’s the ‘implication’ of what is supposed to take place on said date- some sort of (sexual) exchange of goods or services for money. Which is why on the other hand, I’m totally against it. The bottom line is if you’re in a sugar baby/sugar daddy relationship while you’re in college, you’re basically selling yourself for money. I’m not judging, I’m just calling a spade a spade.

And the people in the article never say what they have to do in order to maintain the relationship.

“I like men in the higher caliber, so I look for that,” Makaylia Johnson, a 21-year-old student who’s used the dating service for more than two years, told CBS. “I was in need of financial help and things like that and I wasn’t really looking like something like a commitment because I’m in college.”

But Johnson boasts that men have paid for her rent and car on top of her tuition. “Basically, he just took care of me,” she said of one of her sugar daddies. “Made sure my rent was paid, anything I wanted to do. I went to Mexico. I went to the Bahamas.”

We get it, you’re life was sweet and you went on good cool vacations, but what did he get? WHAT DID YOU HAVE TO DO TO GO ON THOSE VACATIONS?! That’s all anyone cares about. Anyways, here’s the list of universities with the fasting growing sugar baby population.

A lot of southern schools, West Virginia is probably out of survival, Vegas isn’t a surprise, but that’s the list. Jack Mac’s our college guy, so he broke down and analyzed why he thinks each school is on the list. Check it out if you want more. If that doesn’t interest you, watch this Always Sunny clip that perfectly describes, “the implication” and you’ll understand what I was talking about in the first paragraph.
