Lettuce Recall: After 10 Gloriously Crispy Years, Could This Actually Be The Final "All Hockey-Hair Team" Video?
They say that all great things must come to an end. They say that you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain. They say a lot of stupid shit that is just a bunch of cliches that people like to throw around because they don’t have anything better to say. And I never really believed any of it until right now. Because in the most bittersweet announcement of all time, it would appear that the 2019 Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament will be the last and final edition of the All Hockey Hair Team video.
And what an absolute banger for this video series to go out on. In this age of the internet, rarely do things ever stay relevant longer than just a few weeks. Maybe a few viral clips out there have the ability to stay relevant for a few months, but typically that’s it. That’s the limit. A few months of internet relevancy and then everybody gets sick of it. But the All Hockey Hair Team videos? It’s been able to survive an entire decade.

I mean think about it. Some of the kids who were featured in the first video are probably on their own dental insurance plan by now. Maybe bought a house, might have a few kids running around. They’re legitimate full grown adults. And this video series has been able to survive it all. Year in and year out, without fail. In 100 years from now when historians look back on what the internet used to be like, they’ll teach entire courses on this video series. About how a high school hockey tournament provided the world with some of the crispiest heads of lettuce we’ve ever seen, and the video series that captured so beautifully that even the internet never got sick of it. And the internet gets sick of absolutely everything because the internet is filled with the absolute shittiest humans on the planet.
So I’d just like to take a moment here to thank this hero for everything he’s given to us over the year. I think the biggest reason why these videos were able to go on for as long as they have is because this man just stuck to the basics throughout the years. He didn’t get greedy and up the production value just to satisfy some sponsors. He didn’t go Hollywood on us or anything like that. He just kept it simple, reminded us of a better time, and stuck to the basics. The flow. The commentary. The cameo appearances. Everything about these videos have been perfect. And as much as it sucks too see them go, I think he picked an absolute BANGER to go out on. Salute.
