Does This Look Like The Face of a Kid Who Would Grow Up to Get Arrested For Stealing Guitars?

The actor who played Jack Black’s guitar-playing prodigy in “School of Rock” was arrested and accused of swiping several expensive guitars in Florida in the past five weeks, authorities said Wednesday.

Joseph “Joey” Gaydos Jr., 27, who played Zack Mooneyham in the 2003 movie, has open theft and shoplifting cases in Sarasota, Venice and North Port, police and arrest records showed.

Stick it to the man, Zack! I’m not calling this guy Joey or whatever his birth certificate says. This is Zack, the guitarist from School of Rock, and apparently once he got a taste of the rockstar life, he couldn’t let it go. Now the police might call this “theft” or “burglary”, but to me, this is just some good old-fashioned method acting. And for that, Zack, I salute you!

I really think Zack has a case in court here if he decides to pursue it. When the felt emotions of a played character are not compartmentalized, they can encroach on other facets of life, often seeming to disrupt the actor’s psyche (CREDIT TO WIKIPEDIA FOR THE DEFINITION). And that’s exactly what we have here. Society trying to cage in a man that was thrown into a celebrity lifestyle as a boy. What else do you expect him to do? At 12 years old, he was playing guitar in front of sold out crowds. Is he just supposed to go back to 6th grade and be normal again? We’ve seen time and time again that this just doesn’t happen.

culk

But as much as society is to blame instead of Zack himself, I think there’s one more person that needs to be held accountable. His role model. His mentor. His BAND LEADER. That’s right folks, where is Mr. Schneebly in all of this? I’ll tell you where he is. Probably somewhere in Mexico wrestling in a pair of red and blue tights. Because Jack Black makes a movie and moves on. He’s an adult. He can switch up characters, from Shallow Hal to King Kong to Tropic Thunder. But 12-year old Zack? Zack listened to you at an impressionable age. He soaked in everything you said to him….

And do you remember the most important words you ever said to him, Jack?

Is stealing 4 times in 5 weeks “hardcore” enough for you?
