Daniel Craig Is Supposedly Going To Be Replaced As James Bond By The Dude From Peaky Blinders
Source – PEAKY BLINDERS star Cillian Murphy is being tipped to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond when the actor vacates the role after the next 007 outing. Murphy could become the second Irishman to play the world-famous secret agent, following on from Pierce Brosnan’s seven-year stint in the role.
Murphy currently plays Birmingham-based gangster Tommy Selby in Steven Knight’s hit series Peaky Blinders in a role that has raised the Douglas-born actor’s profile even further.
Brosnan took a similar path to the role of 007, having first caught the eye of James Bond producers with his star turn on the hit TV series Remington Steele.
He would be the second Irishman to play a role that’s previously been played by a Scot, an Australian and a Welshman along with two English actors.
I’m sure people are going to be upset by this, but I don’t care. Daniel Craig, no Daniel Craig- it doesn’t matter to me. I’m just happy another Irishman will have the chance to play James Bond. And I’m not saying that because I’m biased (I am), I’m saying that because my favorite James Bond of all time was an Irishman (Pierce Brosnan) and if his performance is half as good as his then we’ll be in for a treat. Also, GoldenEye on N64 was my favorite video of all time so there’s that.

As far as Cillian Murphy goes, I know nothing about him other than the fact that he has the face of a villain. Weird haircut, sunken eyes, boney face- all of it. He looks like the kind of guy that Bond would have to defeat in order to save the world.
Which may be problematic considering he’d have to play the opposite of that role. Regardless, I’m not worried about it, I’ve seen him in Peaky Blinders. The guy absolutely kills it.
The craziest part of this story is the fact that there are actual betting lines on who will become the next Bond. People are spending real money on this.
