LeBron Blames Will NOT Sit Out Games Down The Stretch, Unless He Gets....."Hurt"

No matter how bad things get for the Lakers—and they’re already plenty bad—LeBron James vows to keep playing.

Los Angeles (30-34) dropped its third in a row Monday night, putting it five and a half games out of the playoff picture in the Western Conference, but James says he will not sit out as long as he remains healthy.

“That would take a lot of convincing from Luke [Walton] on up,” James told ESPN, referring to the Lakers coach as well as, most likely, everyone from general manager Rob Pelinka, to president Magic Johnson, to governor Jeanie Buss. “Unless I’m hurt, I’m not sitting games.”

I owe everyone an apology. I was wrong. I have been a two-time LeBron hater (July 8, 2010 – July 11, 2014 and July 10, 2018 – present) in which I see nothing but the negatives in everything he does. I am constantly pointing out his flaws, which include but are certainly not limited to him being selfish, narcissistic, egotistical, a bad teammate, a liar, a circus conductor, and an alcoholic. But this morning, when I saw what LeBron had to say following the Lakers 13th loss in their last 18 games, I officially stand corrected. LeBron James, a professional basketball player that makes $35.6 million per year, WILL continue to play basketball unless he gets hurt. LeBron, let me be the first to say it: thank you for your service.

This is why LeBron James is the best leader in the game. Say what you want about him, but he does not quit.

Now I could play Devils Advocate here and say that LeBron’s heroic decision to continue to play the game that pays him millions of dollars is simply because he wants to continue to pad his stats. His haters will mention that there is no bigger LeBron fan than LeBron himself. And they’re probably right. I couldn’t imagine LeBron passing up the opportunity to congratulate LeBron on becoming the NBA’s 6th all-time leading assist leader on Wednesdays in March. Props to you, King! Young King would be proud of you.

Other haters will point out that LeBron is once again being a bad teammate, seeing as this would be a great time for the organization to shut him down. But he refuses to do anything that helps anyone but himself. The point is that the Lakers currently sit at 13th in the lottery, also known as “No Man’s Land”. If he were to sit, they could presumably fall inside the top 10 and get a talented supporting actor to come to Hollywood and join LeBron. But as of now, Bron wants to play. Unless he gets injured. Or should I say “injured”.

Yeah, there is a 1000000% chance that LeBron gets shut down. I know the odds are now like -1500 that the Lakers miss playoffs, but I bet the odds of him getting “injured” are now like -5,000,000. This dude gets fake hurt when he’s in close games just so you think he’s toughing it out. You don’t think he’ll fake an injury to avoid getting blamed for missing the playoffs? Yeah, you’re right. Maybe he’ll tough it out….
