The Boston Bruins Went The ENTIRE Month Of February Without Losing In Regulation, Oh And They Just Beat The Best Team In The NHL 4-1

Two teams faced off that hadn’t suffered a regulation loss in the month of February, someone had to lose.. spoiler: it wasn’t Boston.

David Backes woke up the TD Garden crowd with an early fight in the 1st against Adam Erne. Erne gave Backes a shot to the back after Louis Domingue gobbled up a shot from Charlie Coyle.

Bruins outshot the Lightning 17-4 in the first frame, but Louis Domingue stood tall.

With Victor Hedman in the box (for a soft call albeit) Jake DeBrusk continued his hot streak with a PPG (went off Stralman’s stick). 1-0 Bruins.

Even Jake couldn’t believe it.

The Lightning looked gassed in the middle of the second, they were on the second night of a back to back. Scoring chances in the 2nd: Boston 14, Tampa Bay just two.

Joakim Nordstrom has gone 18 games (19 including tonight) without a point. Shooting into Louis Domingue’s glove isn’t gonna help.

Sean Kuraly got double-teamed by Coburn and Kuraly and was shaken up, but skated off on his own power.

Fishbowl Noel Acciari extended the Bruins lead by burying a rebound from Chris Wagner. Noel knocked the Lightning off the puck and danced around Erik Cernak. It’s amazing what the fishbowl can do to guys. 2-0 Bruins.

45 seconds later Danton Heinen fed Patrice Bergeron (who was all alone) for his 22nd of the year, 3-0 Bruins.

The floodgates have opened. Brad Marchand beats Louis Domingue five-hole on the breakaway. 4-0 Bruins.

Tampa Bay got one back to make it a three goal game with 6 minutes left. 4-1 Bruins.

37 save game for Louis Domingue, would’ve been 400-1 Bruins if he didn’t make some big saves.

I know the Lightning were on the second night of a back to back, but god damn did that win feel good. The Bruins feel like they can hang with these guys and they put together a full 60 minute effort tonight for the win. I said it when we played the Sharks, and I’ll say it again, but the Bruins defense has STEPPED UP. We’ll see Tampa Bay two more times before the season ends. Buckle up.
