The Epitome Of Bad Parenting Is Allowing Your Child To Touch Russell Westbrook In The Middle Of A Game

I’m not one myself yet but I do know that once you become a parent, there are certain conversations that you simply have to have with your kids as you raise them. There are the standard ones like “stranger danger” and the bird and the bees. There are the conversations that the “cool parents” will have such as “I’d rather you not drink but if you do, I’d rather it be here in the house”. And then there are EXTREMELY GODDAMN IMPORTANT CONVERSATIONS YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO HAVE such as “do not, any under circumstances, touch Mr. Westbrook while we are sitting courtside at the game tonight”.

Because here’s the thing–you can’t really blame the kid here. He’s not the one who purchased the tickets. He’s not the one who drove himself to the game. He’s just a kid who got a chance to see Russell Westbrook up close and in person. But the parents here? They knew that they were taking their kid to see Russ and that they’d be sitting courtside. So at the exact moment those tickets were purchased, the very next conversation should have been about not touching Russell Westbrook even if the opportunity presents itself. Because catching a staredown like that from Westbrook is way worse than any type of grounding or punishment would ever be for a small child. This kid is going to go the rest of his life now having nightmares of that stare. It is going to stick with and haunt him forever. And it’s the parents’ fault for not having that conversation with their kid ahead of time.

If anything, maybe the parents should get grounded here. Go to your room and think about what you’ve done! And don’t even think about getting on the internet anytime soon, mister! No phone or internet for at least a week!
