The 2019 'Fight Of The Year' Bar Has Been Set!

I’m a bit delayed on this one – apologies. While WWE’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view was still on I was struggling to balance and watch everything at once, now I’m playing blog catch-up!

OHHHHHH MYYYYYYYY GOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDD!!!

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN – THIS…IS THE FUCKIN’ UFC!!!!!

Vicente Luque and Bryan Barberena just went out to that octagon at UFC Phoenix and threw the fuck down, making major names for themselves to what is likely the biggest audience they’ve ever fought in front of, definitely making mixed martial arts fans out of a ton of casuals tuning in for the first time, and setting the bar as to what “Fight of the Year” means in 2019.

I’m talkin’ about a BARNBURNER here folks. This was the absolute opposite of what Michael “Venom” Page and Paul “Semtex” Daley did last night in every way, shape, and form possible, and couldn’t have ruled any more. This was real life rock ‘em sock ‘em robots. Just a couple of bad mothafuckas with steel chins completely teeing off on each other until one couldn’t survive much longer, and that didn’t even happen until the final ten seconds of the last round, when Luque hit a double-knee combo on Barberena and hammered off a few ground-and-pound shots onto his temple for the win! We even got the bonus of a knocked out mouthpiece at there end as the cherry on top of this beautiful, violent, sundae of a war.

Hats off to both fighters, and Dana…give these men their bonuses NOW. Ain’t nothing topping this tonight. We’ll be lucky if something tops it this year.
