Movie Trailer Roundup

2

1. Long Shot

Is this my early bet for best comedy of 2019? This stars Charlize Theron (Mad Max: Fury Road), Seth Rogan (Futureman), Alexander Skarsgard (Hold the Dark), Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings), Randall Park (Ant Man & the Wasp), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton) and Bob Odenkirk. Jonathan Levine (50/50) is behind the camera on a Liz Hannah (The Post) and Dan Sterling (The Interview) script.

2. Triple Frontier (Trailer #2)

Not much is different from the first trailer. It’s still staring is  Ben Affleck (Justice League), Oscar Isaac (Star Wars), Charlie Hunnam (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword), Pedro Pascal(Game of Thrones), and Garrett Hedlund (Troy). That’s a stacked cast for director J.C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year).

3. After (Trailer #2)

After two trailers all I can really say is that this should be released on a streaming platform.

4. Ma

How does this not star Brad Garrett?

Doris-RobertsIt does, however, star Octavia Spencer (Hidden Figures (Shoutout Chernin)) and Allison Janney (I, Tonya) who are two powerhouse actresses. Directing is Tate Taylor (The Help) with a Scotty Landes (Workaholics) script.

5. Frozen II

6. Tolkien

They don’t reveal a ton here, but this is super exciting to me personally. I loved LOTR and the Hobbit growing up (admittedly the movies more than the books), and probably logged 20,000 hours playing BFME2 online. The big stars of this Dome Karukoski (Tom of Finland) directed movie are Nicholas Hoult (The Favourite) and Lily James (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again).

7. Aladdin (Trailer #2)

Well…

8. Teen Spirit (Trailer #3)

This is the first trailer for this that I really clicked with, mostly due to the music choice. Elle Fanning (Super 8) is very talented and I’m curious what first time director/writer Max Minghella can do with her and this Ellie Goulding song catalogue.

9. The Hustle

Mehhhhhhhhhhhhhh

10. Yesterday

Robbie Fox put it best.
