I Love This KISS Tribute Band Singer Who's Hair Went Up In Flames Mid-Song But Didn't Stop Him From Playing

Ultimate Guitar- UPDATE: Bobby Jenson, the man with the burning hair in this video, commented on the article to clear things up (under the username rockstar131):

We’re not a KISS tribute but an everybody tribute in one night! All your favorite Rock Icons and KISS is just one small part of the show.

It wasn’t a wig but my hair and I did know right away.

Now THAT is rock n’ roll.

Having some sick ass pyrotechnics in your show will always be a bit of a dangerous game, and lighting your hair on fire is pretty much the all-around worst case scenario you could ever ask for, but not when you’re homeboy above. In his case, it was the perfect opportunity to show just how much of a god damn professional dedicated to his craft he is.

Anybody else would’ve stopped playing, freaked out, and starting smacking themselves in the back of the head like they were trying to get some loose change out of their eyeballs. They would’ve completely ruined what sounded like an awesome rendition of ‘Detroit Rock City’, and pulled down the rockstar facade they’d worked so hard to build in the audiences’ minds throughout their performance. I don’t even know how you could recover from that. You can’t finish the song. You can’t just not address it and move onto the next song (unless it’s ‘Heaven’s on Fire’). All you really can do is…ignore going up in flames completely and keep rocking the fuck out.

P.S. This should earn him the job as KISS’ frontman for the rest of their ‘End of the Road’ tour they’ve got going on, because it’s fucking shameful and even a bit sad to watch Paul Stanley go out there and pretend to sing every night. Shoulda hung it up a loooooong time ago.

Double P.S. Gene actually did this once and thanks to the rough camera quality of the era it just appears he immediately vanished like a vampire. Kinda badass.
