If There's One Place Where Anthony Davis Can Truly Feel At Home, It's Philadelphia
So Antony Davis is on the trade market. Did you see this? Did you hear about this?
Naturally, this caused everybody to immediately assume that LeBron is starting to make his moves in LA and will be bringing AD to the Lakers. Which would make sense and everything but if New Orleans agrees to this deal, well then you know the league is officially rigged.
So who else could potentially be in the Anthony Davis Sweepstakes? I know this isn’t free agency but you obviously can’t leave the hometown team out of the mix completely. Could the Chicago Bulls make an offer? I’m sure. But nothing that the Pelicans would sign off on. But what about a team which could not only give New Orleans a primetime haul in return for AD, but could also make Anthony Davis feel right at home the moment he gets to town? I’m talking, of course, about the Philadelphia 76ers men’s professional basketball team. And here’s why:
For starters, the Sixers could send Markelle Fultz to New Orleans as a part of the package. Why would the Pelicans take Lonzo Ball when they can have the only guy who was picked ahead of him in the 2017 Draft? Would you rather have the 1st overall pick from that draft or the 2nd? It’s simple mathematics, really; Markelle Fultz gets the deal done better than Lonzo would. Then the Sixers can throw an array of other players and draft picks New Orleans’ way to complete the package. It just makes sense from a business standpoint.
And as for AD? Well tell me right now that he wouldn’t immediately fit right in with the wonderful people of Philadelphia like Margaret McPoyle.
It’s human nature to want to fit in somewhere. There are obviously going to be people out there who are constantly trying to stand out from the crowd but more often than not, they’re just trying to mask some sort of insecurity they have with themselves. Anthony Davis wants to be in a place where there are people just like him. So why not do everything he can to push a trade with the Sixers so he can come to Philly and be with Margaret McPoyle? It’s the only destination that actually makes sense for Anthony Davis. You know it, I know it, we all know it.
In closing: the Pelicans receive Markelle Fultz who was drafted ahead of Lonzo Ball. Anthony Davis gets to come to Philadelphia and live like the King McPoyle he was destined to be. I know I may not be a big “basketball guy”, but I feel like I’m the only guy who is actually making any sense here.
