A Person Infected With Measles Went To A Portland Trail Blazers Game Last Week And Got 22 People Infected - The Year is 2019 Not 1819

A person infected with measles attended a Portland Trail Blazers home game in Oregon last week amid an outbreak that has left at least 22 people ill this month in neighboring Washington state.

Of 22 people with confirmed cases, 21 are children, county officials said. Eighteen had not been immunized, and it’s unclear whether the remaining three were. Officials have also identified four suspected cases.

Stop me if I just sound stupid here, but how on Earth could you have measles in the United States in the year 2019? That’s a disease people got on like the Oregon Trail in the 1800s. Measles? Seeing that disease in the news today was about as shocking as finding out Pablo Picasso died in 1973. We officially eliminated that shit from our country in the year 2000. How is it back?

People have been quick to point out there are brain-less idiots out there called “Anti-Vaxxers.” Well, as far as I’m concerned you’re not a human being if you weren’t vaccinated as a child. You might as well be a vampire for all I’m concerned. If this thing actually breaks out we could be looking at an ‘I Am Legend’ scenario in a few years. I don’t mean to alarm people, those are just the facts at hand.

How as a parent do you let your kids out into the public with zero vaccinations? Like that’s a special kind of asshole stupid to do that to your children. Basically saying to them, “hey kids you’re going to die really early in life even though modern medicine has advanced to levels where people born right now could live well over 100 years old.” Nah, tough luck no measles vaccine for you, you have to tough it out.
