If you’re a visiting opponent and you don’t let out a little bit of pee when you see this crowd in person you’re just lying to yourself. I absolutely love this shit in college basketball. When you think of scariest environments to play your mind immediately goes to Cameron Indoor, Rupp or Allen Fieldhouse. You’d never think Grand Canyon University was a hostile environment until you stepped on the floor, but by then, it’d be too late.
In nine home games so far the Antelopes are 9-0 with a winning margin of 19.8 points per game. They’re not a force to be reckoned with. You think you’re just going to a normal college game in Phoenix, Arizona. That’s when the whole goddamn stadium starts to shake to the point where it’s about to collapse. You’d think the San Andreas fault was breaking in half like in the movie 2012. A few years ago Rick Pitino actually called the Grand Canyon crowd the toughest he’d ever faced.
Next up? UT Rio Grand Valley.
Pray for the VAQUEROS.
