Television Star Charles Barkley Calls Out The Sixers For Allowing Pro Basketball Player Joel Embiid To Play Basketball

I’ll tell you what. I’m disappointed. I thought that after all those years that Charles Barkley spent in Philadelphia, he’d leave here with a little Philly left in him for the rest of his life. But it appears that all of that toughness and grit has worn off over the years and have now been masked over in makeup for the television screen. It’s not surprising. It’s just disappointing.

Joel Embiid is a professional basketball player. Is he dealing with a little back soreness? Sure. But is he going to let that prevent him from doing the thing that he was put on this Earth to do? Absolutely dominate his opponents on the floor and put on a show for the good, hardworking people who purchase tickets to watch him play basketball? Of course not. He’s too tough for that. He has too much pride for that. Plus he already sat out his first two seasons in the league and is sick and tired of missing basketball games.

All I’m saying is that if Joel Embiid said he wants to get out there and put up a casual 22 against the Pacers in the regular season, then you let him go out there and put up a casual 22 against the Pacers in the regular season. When it comes to the Philadelphia Sixers and Joel Embiid, people are always going to bitch either way. They’ll bitch about resting Embiid too much or they’ll bitch about playing Embiid too much. It’s a real catch 23 situation.
