Blackhawk Legend Announces Retirement

Brandon Bollig and Gas Money Bob have what you could consider a love/hate relationship. I love Brandon Bollig and he hates me.

I’m not quite sure why a professional athlete would go and block one of their biggest fans. Maybe he thought I was trolling him or maybe it was just an accident. I’ll go with the latter. Either way that is not why we’re here today.

Yesterday Brandon decided to hang up the skates after an extremely successful NHL career that includes winning a Stanley Cup with the 2013 Chicago Blackhawks.

During Bollig’s storied career he played in 241 games amassing 10 goals, 13 assists, a -23 +/-, 1 game winning goal and 392 PIM. Just ask Toews and Kane how important BB’s roll as their protector was. I highly doubt we win that 2nd Cup without him.

While Brandon Bollig didn’t play his entire career with the Blackhawks, he is without question a Blackhawk for Life. Congratulations on a wonderful career and I think I speak for all Hawks fans when I wish you luck in your future endeavors.

Some of Bollig’s career highlights:

Not with the Hawks but still fun watching him get a couple of shots in on Wilson.

Here we have two Blackhawk greats going at it.

This one Bollig gets his ass handed to him but is laughing the whole time.

Bollig would have ended Jackman’s life if the refs didn’t break it up.
