Cumming Man Arrested For Plotting To Attack The White House

AJC - Federal authorities on Wednesday arrested a metro Atlanta man they said was plotting to attack the White House but instead got entangled with the FBI.

Hasher Jallal Taheb, 21, of Cumming, was taken into custody in Gwinnett County while allegedly trying to exchange his vehicle for explosives. He later appeared in court in downtown Atlanta in the case brought by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. Authorities said Taheb was acting alone and they made no accusation that he had ties to any terrorist group. He was arrested after a tip from a resident who said the young man had been radicalized.

“All potential threats have been neutralized and were under control from the inception of this case,” said U.S. Attorney Byung J. “BJay” Pak, who added that authorities would take no questions on the investigation, which is ongoing.

It’s not every day you get to put “Cumming man” in a headline about the White House. That’s a billion in one opportunity and he was not going to miss his chance to shoot his shot. He shot his load all over the Internet’s face, so to speak.

And hey, good on the FBI for tracking down the Cumming man and getting us out of this sticky situation before he was able to blow up the White House. Would be a tough look and the headline would not have been quite as funny, so thank you FBI for letting us have this laugh.

The best is they could have just ended at “Forsyth County”
