Ohio State Unveils High-Tech Pizza ATMs, Great Complement to Their Bacon Vending Machines

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX/WTTE) – Pizza is now easier to get than ever at The Ohio State University as a new Pizza ATM is revealed.  The high-tech machine is located on the second floor of Morrill Tower and will serve hungry students from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Non-students can try it for lunch between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Ohio State says the machine works by having it loaded with pre-made pizzas in a neighboring kitchen. When a pizza is ordered, it bakes in about three to four minutes. The Pizza ATM can hold about 70 pizzas at a time, making it a convenient option when the closest dining hall is closed.

A 10-inch pizza costs $8.

Someone call Dippin’ Dots, we may have ourselves a new food of the future. This ingenious idea of filling an ATM with 10-inch pizzas cuts out every possible middle man in the industry, making it as painless as possible to get your pie. It’s as easy as using a vending machine, but instead of popping out candy bars and chips, it delivers a hot and ready meal. Sort of like Little Caesars, right? But better. Think about it. You don’t have to drive to the shop. You don’t have to tip a delivery man. And even with a frozen pizza like DiGirono, you still have to preheat the oven and cut it up yourself. Folks, when it comes to eating pizza, I like to keep it simple. That’s why Stanley Hudson is my idol in the pizza game.

Now the fact that this invention is first appearing on Ohio State’s campus does not surprise me even in the slightest (my research shows that Xavier did it first in 2016, but that’s like a community college). Ohio State is on the cutting edge in every aspect of modern education, whether we’re talking academics, facilities, athletics (obviously), and even accessibility to the most important food groups. Remember, THE Ohio State University is also the school that debuted the bacon vending machine a couple months ago.

On demand bacon and pizza? You can either wait until you die and hope you make it to heaven, or you can just move to Columbus, Ohio right now. It appears to be the convenient food capital of the world. I see why one of the highest rated recruits in the history of high school football just decided to move up here. I mean, you can only eat Georgia peaches for so long before you get sick of them.

Welcome to Columbus, Mr. Fields! You’ll be one of the greatest to ever play the game. And I would like to welcome back another one of the game’s greatest (pizza game) back to Columbus as well. Last football season, Dave came to campus and roasted pizza place after pizza place, giving a 5.4 to one of the students’ favorite pizza shops, Adriaticos.

If you watch all of Dave’s reviews in Columbus, one would think that he didn’t have a very good experience. Then again, I’m not sure a Michigan Man has had a positive experience during a trip to Ohio State in the last 15 years.
